How much do you charge?
I like to make sure that my rate is customized to the needs of each client so please reach out to me with more information about your wedding so we can start a dialogue and I can give you a better idea of pricing. Having said that, most weddings are between $2750 and $3750, depending on the length of the day. If you only need a photographer for a short ceremony, I'm happy to provide an hourly rate.
Are there any additional costs or fees?
No! The last thing you need in your first few months of marriage are additional expenses! Within a month or so, you get a link to download and share all of the images we deliver. They are high resolution jpegs that can be printed as much or as little as you want. I keep most galleries archived for years, but suggest downloading images and backing them up to your own machine once the link is delivered.
Do you work with an assistant?
I normally work with a second photographer who is also a lighting assistant, family member wrangler and all around nice guy/gal. They help document all the details and capture secondary angles during the ceremony and reception. It's always an option for me to work alone for smaller and more intimate weddings, so don't be afraid to ask.
Will you travel?
I normally photograph weddings locally in Westchester County, New York City or New Jersey, but that doesn't mean I don't love to travel. I'm always available to spend 2 weeks covering a traditional hindi wedding in Northern India, or fly to a remote tropical island for an intimate beach wedding. I've been to some amazing places in the world including Everest base camp, Machu Picchu and the Taj Mahal. I would love to photograph your destination wedding.
How would you describe your style of photography?
I've worked as a press and event photographer for the past 15 years, covering red carpets, glamorous evening galas and high profile business events. My experience as a photojournalist is most apparent in my wedding photography where I capture candid moments between the couple and the family. I spend a very short window of time on the posed portraits, as important as I know those images are, I am also interested in capturing the natural moments that unfold infront of me.
Do you shoot film?
No, I don't shoot film anymore. I find that digital cameras are quicker, more reliable and super versatile. I normally do not deliver my images with any filters or over process the files. I also try and get every couple a few photos the same weekend as the wedding so that they can share some professional images on social media. Most final galleries are complete within a few weeks.
How many photos do I get?
I don't ever promise a certain of number of images, it really depends on each wedding. I normally deliver anywhere from 300 to 600 images. If you'd like to see a complete wedding gallery to get an idea of a whole wedding that I've covered please let me know.
Can I have all of the images on a hard drive?
There is never an easy way to say "No" to a client. But here it is. No. And here's the reason why... If I gave you all of the photos, you'd have to buy expensive software to dig through thousands of unprocessed "raw" images. You'd see all of the outtakes, blinking photos, awkward gestures, strange faces and unglamorous moments that nobody needs to see. I make sure to carefully edit a wide selection of the day, often including variables of similar images so that you can choose your favorites to frame. When you ask a photographer for all of the images taken, it feels a little bit like asking for the keys to the kingdom. You don't need them all, trust me!
